NYGRA ROTTWEILERS
(est. 1969)
We
have been a small hobby kennel starting in 1969 with my first rottweiler, bred
by Joan Woodgate, later Blackmore, Gamegards Border Tryst, C.D.Ex, 2 Res.C.Cs.
Daughter of Emil from Blackforest C.D.Ex and German Import Basula Von
Sachenhertz. She produced Nygra NightWatch, by W.T.Ch.Lenlee Gladiator, who in
turn sired 2 Breed Champions, Ch.Graefin Tansy Baronin and Ch.Graefin Tamsly
Whitt, and W.T.Ch.Jacinto's Bolero. N.N.Watch sired many show and W.T.qualified
dogs, and was himself a Ch.Show first prize winner. N.N.Watch is in the pedigree
of many winning dogs.
Other Championship Show winning dogs followed, including Irene and Gordon
Rattray's(Varenka) first rottweiler Nygra Night Chorale, by N.N.Opera, himself a
Crufts first prize winer. Also Ch.Isaela the Saxon was grandson of G.Border
Tryst.
My aim has always been to maintain the correct working temperament and sound
construction with free movement. Particularly useful were the old Upend lines –
Upend Gallant Crusader bred by Barbara Butler, was successfully used.
I have never campaigned dogs excessively, although nice to win, this has never
been my main aim. Many Nygra dogs have won for other people too numerous to
mention.
After a period of years ago from the ring, my present young dog Nygra Otello
(by Parvenu Yuric, 0 Hips – 0 Elbows, and Heart Tested O, ex my Poirot Aida at
Nygra 7/4 Hips - 0 Elbows, Heart Tested O) was shown lightly in 2008 gaining
qualification to Crufts 2009 twice, as well as Open show wins. He also is DNA
profiled. He was mainly handled by Di McCann, once by Debbie Lilley and at Crufts
by Roger Fuller. My thanks to them all. Oz has 2/2 hips, O Elbows, and
Heart Tested 0 and is available at limited stud to x-rayed bitches. He combines
the best of Continental and British bloodlines. Unfortunately showing is now
curtailed because of lack of transport. |
